tanny oil temperature

hey, just got a real quick question.
What is the ideal temperature for the tranny oil to run? I mean when I put a tranny cooler in, between what temperature should my tranny run?

I was looking at Summitracing and they have different kind of cooler. I know everybody here uses B&M, but did you guys ever thought about 17000GVW summit trasmission cooler?

Significant Technical Input
Typically anything between 40 and 175 degrees farenheit are considered optimal. Try looking here for more info on transmission coolers. www.haydenautomotive.com I squeezed a 678 (24,000#) in between the condensor and radiator.

I didn't use the B&M, mainly because no one had it in stock on the day I wanted to do the install, so I hooked up two small Hayden "traditional style" coolers in series. Compared to my friend's with a B&M, my set up does run a bit hotter, at anywhere between 150 and 180 during steady highway cruising. His rarely passes 160, although he does have a newer tranny. Also his takes longer to warm up before shifting to 4th on cold days. We also took temp readings in his girlfriend's SVX before installing the cooler, and it heated up pretty quickly with the engine and never dropped below 180-200 regardless of the outside conditions.
