svx got egged? any suggestions?

i saw some little egg shells on my hood and front bumper. my yellow svx was egged. i noticed it alot more at the gas station when i just gased up my car.

some jackasses are just too free and jealous of others' cars. and, this is a college town. when pple got drunk, when you drove thru, they might threw at your car with the beer bottle, i almost got hit once - that's crazy.

i know i'm not the first one. i read someone suggested mixed with water/vinegar of 50:50? is this work? any better solution try to eliminate damage the paint as least as possible? what is the best way to try? anything they sell in the store? advanced auto? i really don't like to try gasoline.

i just waxed the yellow svx about 1.5 mths ago. i don't know how much it will help.... thanks if someone with some good advices. i do have a bottle of matching touch-up paint analyzed by a computer of the paint store. (car wash now)

I say just wash it off. should come off but use something very soft as not to scratch the paint. Should be ok

i'll bet Randy did it.

wash it off with some carwash soap and water, and if there's any residue, try some 3M Imperial Hand Glaze - great stuff.

If the guy was in zebra stripped underware with holding fuzzy dice, I think I know who it was.

I would use car soap as well. Just use some care and keep it waxed. That will help it resist damage if it happens again.

Hey guys,

It's not as easy and simple as you thought.

Dried Egg sucked when they stayed on your paint.

The yellow svx was waxed 1.5mths ago but maybe the acid in the egg ate in the paint. Maybe the dried egg was there for few days as the car was dirty, alot of construction works around.

I used Vinegar mixed with warm water of 50:50. It did help to take off some dried egg and I restored about 50-60%. There is some damage, I can see from the hood and bumper, a few spots of the clear coat are gone.

I went to advanced auto to see if there's any product can help - not much.
I am going to see auto body shop tmr as one guy there told me they might be able to buff it up or etc..........

Egging damages in 2 ways, the egg white and yoke if not washed off quickly will damage the paint due to the acids in them, but the egg shell damages the paint upon impact, as the shell, as it crushes cuts all the way through the paint, you will see a series of "rings" around a impact site, this is done by the shell, and nothing other than a re-paint will fix that....

If it make you feel any better, my XT6, and my mother's car (was at my house while I was working on it for her) got egged a couple months ago....I was lucky with my XT6, as the impact was on hte door window, and I washed off the egg before it dried, so it didn't damage it at all...but moms car wasn't as lucky

yeah, i never understood that. i've had my run ins with these types of punks in the past. hell 2 months ago i was at a concert where some of kids in front of me were throwing beer bottles into crowd up front. i got the dude's attention and told him and his friends that if i get hit with a beer bottle, i'm going to repaint the cement that we were standing on with their faces.

i also live around these freaking rich emory kids who feel that they are entitled to destroying property once in a drunken state. lucky for them, the cops always beat me to them.
