In the meantime i went out and bought "new to me" car

Have you guys seen the national lampoon"s Vacation Movies???

Save some money and put a manual in. If you really want to keep the SVX, I think it's worth it.

Good choice. These cars are the SUVs of the future. Lower - to minimize rollovers, built on a car's body, so it's comfortable, & just as much interior space as an explorer, if not more.
Hang on to it - it's bound to increase in value soon.
