Thumbs up There will be another movie with the SVX in it!

I started this as a response to the SVX TV sighting thread, but then got going on it and decided to make a new post since this subject will probably come up a lot on here as I need help with things through the process...............

Some friends and I used to be pretty big into making home movies on VHS thru high school. I followed this hobby into college and took some classes there where I made some better short movies. Then in 1995 a group of us produced a 1 1/2 hour action movie based on the comic book hero "The Punisher". By today's standards with digital video and computer editting it looks kinda cheesy, but was very well done considering a bunch of 'kids' with a VHS camera and only VCRs for editting did it. The tapes are still passed around among friends and friends of friends all over the U.S., it is somewhat of a cult classic in some circles.

Now that you have the background.....
After lying dormant for 8 years, our imaginations are getting fired up again and we will be dusting off an old script we wrote and producing another movie! The goal this time is to use no copyrighted material (at some point I'll probably be soliciting here for original music, etc) and to put a lot of effort into making this something high quality. Something that if we were happy enough with the end result we could 'shop it around' for small film festivals and the like. At the very least, it will be a lot of fun and something we can be proud of.

Without question there will be some scenes with my SVX, even if it is just the background. Not sure if I want to make the SVX be one of the more prominent cars in the story, since we are looking for dirty old beaters and I'm not sure I want the SVX portrayed as such. We'll see what happens though, the script is still being tweaked.

I'll keep you all updated on the process, if you wish. The three of us that will be most involved will be meeting probably next month and then we will spend the summer gathering resources and getting everything set for a late summer shoot. I'll probably be ducking in here from time to time asking for obscure items, advice, etc. Wish me luck!

I have a friend who's getting pretty hardcore at producing music. He's recording live orchestras, composing his own stuff, then importing it all on his PC and creating some AWESOME tunes; some are electronic, some are orchestra-ish, some are a mixture, and some are just WEIRD. Interested?

Yes, I'm sure there is something there we can use.

The music will probably be a ways down the road for us, after we get into the editting stage and determine what the mood of the scenes calls for, etc. I will definitely keep it in mind though. Thanks!

Good Luck with the new venture. I could play the guy down the street with too many SVXi and went off the deep end! Oh, you don't want this to be that real do you. Sorry.
