Rola ski roof racks

I was looking for a ski rack for the svx, and thought I had a good deal with the Rola rack, manufactured in Australia. I have tried the phone number listed for the USA distributer and get the infamous "number no longer in service" canned message. Does anyone have a line on these racks? I am fearing the worst as a net seach does nothing towards any USA info... suggestions?

I think the US distributor listed in previous posts has folded. There might be a new one. Shoot an email off to sales@rola.com.au as they were the ones that got me in touch with a US distributor a couple of years ago. There are also tons of AU and NZ sites that carry Rola Roof racks. You may be able to find some that ship to the US. If not, try to contact some of the AU members and see if they can help you out.

Your other option is a Barrecrafters roof rack. I think there is another thread right now with some pics of it on a SVX. I prefer the looks of the Rola Roof rack as it doesn't use as many bars to attach it to the car. A much cleaner look from my perspective.

Let me know if you need some pics.

Cheers,
Matt

barrecrafters

I think the Barrecrafters rack is the way to go.
There are some pictures in my locker of my rack on my svx.

Nothing else in the US seems to get the job done.

I'm not sure if Thule accessories would fit or not.
As for Barrecrafters, let me pull my file...

...Okay, from what I can tell, you will need the
US-220 Mini roof kit
US-1401 unisport rack
US-288 hook kit

You can also order the fairing and other accessories.
I know you can go to www.barrecrafters.com and enter your car info and it will spit back what will fit.

They can also locate a dealer for you.

Let me know if I can be of any more assistance.

Proforms are avail only to people who work at a Store that sells the roof racks. The ski/snowboard shop I work for just happened to sell them.

How well does that rack work for holding a surfboard?

Just an update after calling Rola Australia:

ROLA does not ship overseas, however, one of their resellers does apparently (according to Rola Australia).

Repco Exports
rapoz@repco.com.au

Hope this helps
