Thumbs up SVX in FORZA

There's a letter to the Editor in the latest issue (#49) of FORZA-The Magazine About Ferrari, which reads in part as follows:

"...Regarding the list of Giugiaro's notable auto designs in "Dateline News" in FORZA #47, you left out a personal favorite: the Subaru SVX. In December 1997, I walked into the local Subaru showroom to look at an Outback but instead fell in love with the sweeping lines of a beautiful red SVX. When I found out it had a 230-hp flat six, my utility vehicle shooping was over..."

The letter goes on to describe how the writer, Clifford Steve of N. Kingstown, RI has since become addicted to F1 racing and all things Ferrari.

Since he lives nearby, I shall make it my mission to hunt the gentleman down to see if he still has the SVX. In the meantime, it's nice to see our humble chariots mentioned alongside Ferrari.

Hmm. that interesting , I wonder what dealer it was. There arn't that many in RI. Was it an old letter in a resent mag? I hope it wasn't that rag tag L model that was at Pilgram Subaru 4years ago.

Letter was in latest issue of mag., but I think he was talking about buying SVX new in '97, though I may be wrong and it may be the red L you mentioned that Pilgrem had in their showroom. As I remember it, they wanted insane $$ for it at the time.

Oh, man you saw that thing to? He tried selling it to me for $11,000, and it had the most hidious red repaint on it, runs and dust everywhere, oviously wreaked. I stopped and looked at it one Sunday and just for the hell of it I tried to open the door, the thing was unlocked but the alarm was set, I got out of there quikly.

Could have re-program the car. Just push your key in, turn it and program the car. It's funny. I once drove my 92 with my 94 keys. It took a while to get it out but they will go in and they will start the car. Hehe.

Are you sure that wasnt some freak thing between your 2 cars? or will it work with every SVX?

BTW: I didn't have my SVX yet at the time.

Now there's a good idea. Tell a bunch of SVX owners how to steal SVX's with any SVX keys. Hijinx ensue.
