Hmmmm

I paid 5500.00 for mine last fall and it's really clean. So maybe I paid to much too?

I guess if a guy wants one bad enough or likes the car enough they will get it.

Thats my 2 cents anyway.

its a combination of things

first the car is an Az car so we dont get
the metal corrosion like the east coast cars..
Alot of degreaser and high pressure wash will
clean the rest (and its easier if the cars been
taken care of most its life..)
and then they have this shiney armor all type
stuff that they literally spray in engine bays
to make them look new and clean again.
Its water soluable, but looks good for a while
anyway

You'd think they would have photoshopped some clips on the engine cover or at least put the dipstick back in

As mentioned, this is the SECOND time around for this car on ebay. Bidding on your own item or arranging for "bidders" to bid it up for you is called SHILL BIDDING and is against ebay policy and will get you thrown out of any legit live auction as well. Certainly this car isn't worth over $4k let alone $6!

Why is everyone so astounded at the engine?

Go to the do-it-yourself-carwash, spray on some engine degreaser everywhere, the foaming stuff works best. (Don't forget to cover up the alternator and any other electrical connections that may get wet). Let the stuff sit, hose it off with low pressure (HIGH-pressure for the under part of the engine). Let it dry for a few minutes then throw on some of this stuff....available at any auto parts store.

Let it dry, re-apply if needed.. Then drive!

I will vouch for the black magic engine shine, it makes your engine looks great. BUT it doesnt work too well on the cover that says H-6... It works well everything else, at least for me. Runs out fast though.....
