Door Locks
This last weekend when getting out of my car to go to dinner I tried to lock my SVX and when I pushed the lock down it made a groining noise and just would not lock. The lock will not go all the way down it will not click in to place. And both the locks on the car will not lock at all. Has this happened before to other people? What can I do? What is broken on jammed? Can I fix this my self?
Thanks SVXtasy |

Hi,
I can't say that I have heard of this and it sounds like it might be something new. There have been problems of the key not turning the lock. Maybe someone else has an idea. |

You metion a strange noise. It could be that the central locking release solenoid is energised thas preventing the latch engaging, i.e. an electrical problem. If you remove the inner door panel you will be able see ( and hear ) just what is going on.
Alternativel you could locate and remove the fuse which protects the circuit and if the door locks OK you have confirmed this possible answer to the fault. I do not have a US model wiring diagram so am unable to indicate the fuse involved.
