Couple of things I noticed on my 91 JDM CXW front cut that I recently stripped:
1) Plastic headlight lenses 2) Fog lights inboard of high beams (3 bulbs in lights) 3) Fog light switch next to park light switch (might be an Aust spec thing) 4) Audio controls on steering wheel 5) Keyless entry module was under dash (versus driver side rear in my 95) 6) confirm folding mirrors - has an extra button on the mirror switch 7) Confirm "Boxer" on throttle body cover I have most of these things which I'd be happy to sell if somebody wanted to be a bit different. I'm keeping the headlights though. Cheers, Matt |

I see that you will be getting a PM from our man who really knows his stuff and in Japanese. Not surprising that Harvey is off with the thunder. If you require any more detail let me know. There could be the bits required available from a local wrecker/breaker. If you want me to investigate shout, but I would imagine that you could be in for some frustrating and extensive work. Cheers, Trevor.

Thanks for the info guys, that coded lock release is so cool. As the manual pages in Harvey's locker are in English, I infer that this system was also fitted to Aussie SVXes and possibly European ones too?
It works perfectly on my 94: I set a code as per the instructions. Then I locked the door, put in the code using the handle and the door unlocked itself like magic! It seems to be broken on my 92. I'll check the wiring for the central locking because it was badly butchered by the guy who installed the alarm. Or maybe this car never had it - although the infra-red key used to work and one would assume they are controlled by the same module.

I did not realise that you simply wanted to know how to work what you already had. Now you know what you have been missing. If you require any bits for the 92 you know where to ask. Enjoy, Trevor.

Danny in the Lebanon, his car came as standard with no cats. This seems to be the case for some markets. These cars would be freer breathing and may have a few extra ponies. Not too many, but some for sure. Heated seats was standard in the UK, probably Germany also. I've never seen a JDM car with the heated seat switches, so I don't think that market got the option. I'm open to correction though. Paddles? It's very possible the only market that got auto seatbelts was the US. Joe

240 ps equates to 236.7 horsepower (actually 236.716839671943048 hp). But 240 is a suspiciously rounded number in the first place! The US specs quote 230 horsepower, also a suspiciously rounded number. How were these measurements made? We don't know. We can assume the engine was on a test rig somewhere and not actually mounted in a car; and most probably not using the original car's inlet and exhaust systems either. There is no mention of the fuel used, the air pressure, air temperature, coolant temperature etc. etc. etc. Was the engine driving any ancilliaries such as the generator and power steering pump? Were these two measured values the really the same, or were two different measurements made on different engines under different conditions? I don't know. What I suspect is that the natural production variations between any two cars coming off the production line are likely to show greater variability in power output than any inferred differences between these two power figures. My suspicious mind thinks that these power figures are probably higher than you could get from any engine actually installed in a car .
