If Morgantown is still the lodging of choice I will contact them at a later date when we have a more accurate count of the number of rooms reqiured ( If the list dets much longer we may be renting the whole damn place!)
John, they must be hurtin' for business, huh? I believe Larry III had suggested the alternate location. I'm game for changing if everyone else is (although my heart will still be in M-town. Your first is always the best, or, so they say). You can also ask them if they'll dip their rate a little more this time around. If I recall, their rate has been slightly steep. I will, however, defer to Larry of the three I's.

FROM THE DESK OF SIR LAWRENCE OF THE THREE AYES:

TO THE AREDUBJAY OF KENTUCKY:

The Holiday Inn you refer to is the one in Denver, Pa. On the PA Tpke. it is one exit west of the Morgantown Holiday Inn. It may be cheaper. I don't know. Either Holiday Inn is fine.

Pick One !

How big is the parking area at Denver? I've always felt that one of the big pluses of the M-town locale was the HUGE parking lot. Just a thought. Of course, cheaper would be better if they've got room for us all. We'll just take over Denver!!! Just let me know, I'm too far away to really do any "real" research.

Randy,

The parking lot at the Morg. town Holiday Inn is about 50x the size of the lot at the Denver, Pa. H. Inn. The Denver, Pa. H. Inn lot only holds about 100 cars.
I just didn't think that size mattered. Obviously, even in this case, it does.

So stay at the Morg. town H. Inn and we can drive to Denver, Pa. There is a big (cheap) gas station across the street from the Denver, Pa. H. Inn, so we can all gas up there.

But I'm concerned about putting excessive miles on my car

Seriously though, I prefer to stay in Morgantown and I certainly don't mind a long drive accross the state.

Looking forward to April!!!

Doug! Poking your head up from the hoary nederworld? I reckon you've been busy working on the Garage Mahal, et al. Been missin' your input. Perhaps we'll have a chance meeting, in April, like last year, huh? Only, this time, let's all pray I'm not driving straight from the shop.

I know I've been scarce around here. I've been fighting with the house. I wanted to get the 1st floor insulated by Christmas but its not going to happen. I decided to just add a few extra heat ducts and hope for the best. We added 17 laminated beams to the first floor to strengthen it and support the 2nd floor so we could reconfigure the interior walls. One beam was 22 feet long, 7 inches thick and 18 inches deep. It took four men and two hydraulic jacks to put those suckers in.

We haven't even broke ground for the Garage Mahal. We finally have the easements and zoning variants but now its too damn cold to work outside. I do not believe in the practice of building through winter.

Well, That's my life in a nutshell.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Doug

Randy,

Let's See:

Vermont I - Almost straight from shop (Legacy Tranny)
Reading II - straight from shop
Snowshoe II - Shop on the road ( Oil Plug)

Where is your sense of tradition. I can just picture you in the lead role in "Fiddler on the Roof" . I heard that you got a standing ovation at the Playhouse in the Pasture in Owensburg, Kentucky. Next stop Broadway. If you can make it there, you'll make it anywhere. It's up to you Aredub, Aredub !!!

Actually, Vermont was straight from the shop. I went straight from work, to the shop, then, picked up Shari and headed out. Reading II was the same way, only I picked up Micah instead of Shari. Snowshoe II was OE (operator error -- a foolish, stupid, bonehead, idiotic, embarrassing mistake). Oh, and to add insult to injury, I got a ticket on the way to VT! Wound up costing me around 165.00 just to save points. The ticket itself was only 100.00, but I was going 20MPH over, which is 6 points.

Meanwhile, I'm still getting my 2-3 flare (it developed on the way to Somerset to see Huck and drive the 5-Speed). It only happens under load (like when they diagnosed the TPS problem) and after the car has warmed up. I *should* take it in and have it looked at, BUT, I fear they'll either want to keep it for 24 days (like the last time) or, they'll keep it 'til Reading III. I'm just slightly gun shy. Perhaps I'll try a slight adjustment to the TPS myself and see if it takes care of the problem.

Should I get back to the Morgantown Holiday Inn and try to negotiate a good rate for rooms for Reading iii? With the latest count we should be able to do better than last year...

Looks like between 25 and 30. What would be the minimum that we would need?

Depends upon how many will be traveling and how many will be driving in. I know there are several who will just be coming in for the Saturday drive. Perhaps if we plan on 15 rooms? Does that sound about right? I'm sure some will not show (but, I hope not). I'd Really, Really, Really, Really, like to see 30 cars there.

Randy,

Please correct me if I am wrong. Simple addition was never one of my best subjects.
I counted 26 names as definitely coming to Reading iii. It will be 27, if Pepsi Cola can make it .
