Help. I think the tranny died this morning. . .

How much less do you think? See when it comes to tranny's I'm pretty dumb. . .

The 4EAT - can I use one from an AWD Legacy? They are only 2.5L. Would I burn out the Tranny quickly? Is there a tranny kit to keep it cool, or modify the tourque? I know I can get one pretty inexpensively if I look hard enough, in fact there is one on ebay as we speak.

Earthworm mentioned 4.11 or 4.44 gears. What is the difference (size & torque)?

Can I use a Legacy 5 Speed transmission? I'm really pretty clueless when it comes to this transmission stuff. If I keep the car I don't want to make the wrong decision. Not to mentin money is a little tight right now.
