rain + engine = tragic

I might've ruined my engine. Who woulda thought Michigan rain would kill a Seattle Subaru?

There was a sudden downpour at night, I didn't pull over or even slow down much and hit a big puddle. Now I might have a hydrolocked eg33 as a centerpiece on the thanksgiving table.

My heart aches.

Sometimes it's not terminal. Did it stop instantly or cough and sputter first?

Engine stopped, car glided to a stop.
Got towed by AAA 2hrs later.

Car is in the shop now. All I know is that there's water in the air filter.

Re: rain + engine = tragic

Looks like my engine is now better suited to be a lawn ornament or thanksgiving table centerpiece.

A puddle less than 6" too fast, with missing wheel well fender thingie = hydrolock. :O

Sue is now on the heart transplant list.

I was wondering how that happened. Was that using the stock intake. Sorry for your loss.

Damn that sucks, the missing inner fender liner is never good with the air coming from the wheel well. That tire spray must have been perfect, and not in a good way, to throw that water straight into the air intake plumbing.
