Re: Hijack this thread: The Sequel!!

Kenneth will be along shortly to get his post count on. Atleast I hope so.

They say it is going to snow tonight. I really hope it doesn't. My back hurts.

Eh, I could certainly do without the snow, but at least I'm prepared. Tested the snowblower and the generator this AM- we're due to get 12-18 inches.

I helped my buddy straighten out his wrecked Accord last weekend while I fixed up my battery. Frankly I'm surprised that he survived it, but the end result worked out well.

What you see here is the "after shot". The radiator was touching the bumber support prior to our ghetto fix.

BTW, yes he drives it in this condition. There's another Accord in the driveway to the right with a blown motor. He's a true hillbilly of the San Fernando Valley.

Re: Hijack this thread: The Sequel!!

It's flooding! These pics are from the bottom of our steps. Luckily I have off street parking.

The I ran down to the mini as soon as I saw it, but they'd already abandoned the vehicle. It's still down there, no lights though. The water is back down off the highway, but there's debris everywhere and quite a few homes were flooded. More pics and videos at my Picasa page.

Lucky you don't park on the street man. I heard they had to close LAX tunnel due to flooding.

I want to hear about the house too.

Here are some aftermath shots.

This car was was in the first pic from yesterday.

The debris dammed up the sides of the road, so when the creek ran over its banks upstream from me it had nowhere else to go but down the highway.

I talked to the owners of the house across the street from me that got flooded so badly last night. They were truly inspiring. The flash flood was over after a couple of hours, so rather than go check into a motel they started cleaning up as soon as they could get back in the door. They laughed the whole thing off, and I commended their ability to take a potentially major disaster and turn it into a minor annoyance.

I ran into town to pick up some things, and at Pat's Grille in the canyon look what I found.

I talked to the owner for a while. He's a SVX freak like all of us, having owned 6 over the years. His '96(?) Ebony was in very nice condition. I showed him shots of last year's 2 Museum Meet on my phone, and told him to come check out the Network.

Now about that house...
