Another AWD tranny question
Alright, just trying to nail down an issue. Tranny has no problems getting into reverse, and once out of first, it shifts perfectly into every gear. BUT, when going from a stop, if you give it too much gas, it takes a second for the tranny to "catch up" and it slams forward, so smooth starts are needed. Also, on a minor incline, the car will start sliding back like a manual.
Anyone know if this'd be a big issue, or is there anything that can be adjusted to mitigate? |

Re: Another AWD tranny question
I dont know about these cars but whenever i buy an auto, I always see if it will hold on an incline. I was told if it didnt, the tranny was weak. I may be wrong but that is what i go by. I think it should hold unless it is weak. Maybe the bands are worn out.

Re: Another AWD tranny question
In any gear BUT first, it doesn't slip even a little. Only first has this issue. Floored in 2nd, it goes perfectly.

As far as the reverse/first bang, make sure your fluid is up to level and clean. You may be able to just replace the filter and clean the screens in the shift solenoids and give it a purge. Some good reading here http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs...ssion/4eat.pdf
