Nicely done. That should get a trophy!

Are those Toyo Proxies tires? I have as set on my other car. Hate them. way too noisy.

that's because the fiberglass and carbon fiber hoods don't have cutouts for the washer nozzles.

Re: Car shows 2016

The washers nozzle is from a Buick ( GM ) I was told. And yes , not a good idea to drill a hole in the hood. Did not have a black zip tie , but I will replace it if it bothers you.
YES Toyo PROXIE tires. 18 ". Had a hard time finding tires.
Won a trophy before paint and interior was done last week.
YES THRILLED. Only thing is I am afraid to drive it. Was more fun when it was a mess. Started when I put new header pipes on it . Then interior then the paint.
Did not have a lot of choice on the paint . The wrap was way more expensive. I was still going for it then the body shop showed me how bad the hood was . Lines were not straight , ripples , the scoop was crooked ,and cracking. Every imperfection shows through with a wrap . Then the wrap people told me to get it painted. Even rattle can it. Let it set for a few weeks. If they put wrap on and have to reposition it it may pull the new paint off etc..

So true about afraid to drive a pristine SVX. Of the 3 I owned, had by far the most fun with the 92"beater"

Re: Car shows 2016

Your car is beautiful. The color is vibrant and really does the body shape justice. Great job.

Re: Car shows 2016

Thank u .. I wanted both the dependability by eliminating all the weak points of this beautiful car... Better brakes, better cooling, better drivetrain, and after I got the performance improved I wanted the beauty of its lines and the softer lighter interior color. IMHO if SVX was built this way ,26 years ago , it would have been a much better seller and may have even lasted more years. And been a contender in the Mustang, Celica, Z, and others. Ring...

Re: Car shows 2016

Laguna blue looks so right. There's a Canadian 97 that comes to Stratford every summer for the Theatre; I like comparing my Mica black 97 (gunmetal black alloys before powdercoating) to it as she stays at a B&B right around the corner from me.

This summer in my area there are Vintage Cruise-ins every night of the week in villages within a 30 to 60 minute drive. I go to as many as I can and the SVX gets much attention for it's rarity, quirkiness and envelope-busting engineering.
Last Sunday our local group A.C.E.S. held our annual hospital fundraiser all day lakeside car show - ~ 500 angle parked vehicles of all types and vintages.
