Traveling from/through MN - Page 2

I'm going to be in Chicago the Wednesday/Thursday/Friday before the meet, but don't plan on leaving until late Friday, as I'll be doing the tourist thing, eh?

If there's a convoy going thru or leaving Chicago, oh, say, after dinner, count me in.

Well, tentatively we plan to leave Delavan after work Friday at about 5:30 to 6:00pm. That will put us into Chicago around 7:00 to 7:30pm. getting beyond that is another question knowing Chicago rush hour(s).

Looks like I see 2 groups of SVXes leaving Chicago. One earlier and one a little later in the evening. But we can change all that again. I myself would like to leave a little earlier since the Chicago traffic on Friday can be a PITA and I get really mad in traffic (seen office space?)

Well, I won't get into Chicago until Wednesday morning 2am, and I plan on doing the Art Museum, Aquarium, Science and Industry Museum, Natural Sciences Museum, Hancock Observatory, maybe a architecture tour, plus shopping at the outlet where the Bass Pro Shop is.

I think I'll need all of Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday...

If you guys want to convoy out of Chicago after the rush hour (7pm?), I'm game.

I live about 20 minutes away from that shop. I go there to the shooting range to shoot. Give me a call if you want to meet up before the meet.

Hi, My wife and I will be leaving Minneapolis around Brooklyn Centre and will arrive in Eau Clair by 8or9am. on the 19th. It would be nice if we could meet up with the group and take the short cut. Hi, My wife and I plan to leave Minneapolis on the 19th and expect to be in Eau Clair around 8 or 9 am. It would be nice to meet with the group and take the short cut. We are traveling from wpg. like Earthworm but will stay in Minneapolis overnight.

Sounds fine. I should be at the rest area about 25 miles east of EauClaire around 9:30am. I suppose I will wait around there for 15-20 mins and if anyone shows up, we'll go, if not I'll continue on and hope to run across someone. Mark10t is leaving from the minneapolis area, maybe you can start out with him from there?

Hey Lwin - how about meeting up somewhere south of Chicago instead of in town? That way we can take the bypass around the west side. Just a thought....

Hi all MN. area SVX 'ERS,

I would anticipate joining the group at the Eau Claire rest stop at 9:30 AM on the 19th.

Is there any interest in an informal get together before the 19th ?
I live in the White Bear Lake area.

Hmm, I've not been following this thread... bad sith.

Are there still plans to pass through madison? I'd like to meet up with everyone there if possible to join the caravan.

I and the rest of the caravan I can arrange should be passing through Madison sometime in the 11:30-12:30 area. I need to carefully check my maps/distances/times and figure out a more formal schedule, but I think it is about 2.5-3 hours from Eau Claire to Madison.

We'll figure out a hook up location if you can deal with that schedule.

So has any firm plans been set here?

It looks like I'll be ready to leave Chicago after 5:30pm, so if there's a convoy then I'd like to hook up.

I'll be leaving Toronto on Tuesday to Chicago, and will have limited internet access while in Chicago, so I won't know if I can check the board after Tuesday.

At a minimum, myself and Earthworm will be on the following plan:

6am - Leave Duluth, MN
9am - Arrive Eau Claire
9:30 - Arrive, rest area 24miles E of Eau Claire on I94
where we hope to hook up with a few of you out there
noonish - Arrive, Madison, WI
2pm - Arrive far west suburbs of Chicago on I90
3:30pm - Leave Far south/east Suburbs of Chicago
5:00 arrive at Meet woot!

So let me know if you can fit into that schedule and hopefully we can meet up and caravan.

Steve - where in madison were you thinking about meeting up? I dont know the city too well, so I can't think of anywhere to in particular that would be good. If you just pick a rest stop on whatever highway you'll be on and let me know, myself and my codriver will be there. Also, I pm'd you my cell phone number just in case.
