AMR Engineering Update

Hello.
I just recently (Friday) found out that Andy is no longer running the business.
I was told that he is now only consulting.
This info was given to me in a reply to a several month old e-mail of mine.
Hopefully this will mean that service will improve.
That is all the info I have.

Re: AMR Engineering Update

I just ordered a radiator from them the other day as I am finally looking forward to getting the SVX back on the road. Its been longer than I care to admit since my stock one cracked and the car got parked! Lol

Did you happen to know who is now running the business? Might be worthwhile to reiterate the SVX community needs this support.

Re: AMR Engineering Update

As long as i get my radiator in some kind of timely fashion im not too picky but i have to say im pretty unimpressed so far.

I messaged and they said they had them in stock so I said id call the next day and order. He messaged and said no phone orders, its all online. Ok sure.

Ordered it last tuesday with no word on how soon it would come so i message and ask and they said by the end of the week and that they would give a tracking number. Ok? How long does it take to ship something if you have it on hand ready to ship?

So i message monday just asking if it shipped out at the end of the week LIKE HE TOLD ME and he replies "not to be rude but we said we would let you know and give you the tracking number..." And then some line about covid slowing it down and that it would ship by the end of THIS week now.

Ok. Fine. I get it. I know doing business is hard. Heck, I (of just a few people) can personally vouch that doing business is hard even in such a good community of people like this. Stuff doesnt always go how we think it will. But if you have a product that is advertised as ready to ship, how does it take 10 days to get it on a UPS truck?

RUN. Hopefully you bought it with a CC and can call and dispute. Pick up a used one or new OEM and move on. I've been burned all too often with these custom/one off type shops and hate to see other members lose time and money spinning their wheels for a product that's promised which never comes...

Re: AMR Engineering Update

SVXMAN2001, did you have a problem AMR? Was this recently or years ago?

I know a few years ago it seemed common to have problems dealing with AMR, but recently (last 2 to 3 years) things seem to have been much better. I've purchased things from AMR several times and I've not had any problem with the level of service. Both my AMR coil overs and radiator ended up taking less time that than estimated. I would definitely buy from them again.

The AMR radiator is the best that I've seem for the SVX. The OEM radiator is fairly poor construction with the plastic top section prone to cracking. You can make other subaru radiators work, but they don't have the correct pipe angles (you can work around that, but it doesn't look so great).

I wouldn't worry about things being a couple of weeks late, given the current events and that AMR seems to have changed management (and maybe short staffed).

For comparison: I tried to buy a AMR radiator from Truspeed, who claimed it was in stock (when AMR didn't have any). Turned out it wasn't in stock, but they would order it and it would be cheaper (they where getting a bulk discount or something I guess).... it took a year to get my money back from Truspeed...

In the end AMR seem solid, all be it a bit slow. There are less and less parts available for our cars, so I will support AMR as long as they support the SVX.

Good luck + my 2 cent on AMR.
Ian.

Shipping label was created before being provided to the carrier?
