I Love This Car

After a really long, tiring and exhasperating day at the client's facility in Rahway NJ, I took SUBYDOO (97 SVX LSi) in to work this morn. I was headed north on the BLUE ROUTE, I-476 ,about 6:05 AM; when 2 guys in an older Supra Turbo came flying up and flashed their headlights. I moved to the center lane, let them pass, then gave chase. We diced for about 10-12 miles. They backed off over 100. For a short time (very short), a Ford Probe tried to join the fun. I guess he knew he was not in this league.
I usually don't do this but there was practically no other cars in sight this morn. I got off at the exit for work and the Supra continued on.
We waved at each other as we departed.

God, that was exhilerating. Whenever I'm down, God usually puts someone or something in my path to chase the blues away.
I love this car.

I got up to at least 45 in the Justy this morning.

I'm glad you had a fun time in the car this morning, Larry. I have many similar happy memories.

Thumbs up I will have to live vicariously through you...for now anyway ;)

Brings back many a fond memory for me as well. Living as close as I do to work nowadays I don't get the opportunity to get beyond 40 - 45 myself anymore Any chance I get to be on the highway I feel lucky to get it over 80. Growing older as I have been lately has left me a little more cautious concerning tickets (actually, having no money to pay for a ticket is the main reason) but I sure do miss the old days of letting no car pass me on the freeway come hell or high water. If only I had the SVX back then!

I just had a fun time playing with a M5 on my way to the paint shop. We were going between 100 and 120 the whole time. By the way, those are sweet cars.

Cigar-J,

I am 58.5 in age. My body creaks like a 92 SVX dashboard on a cold winter's morn. The hairline is now about an inch above the back of neck and gravity has pulled my once proud chest and shoulders down to my waist and I can't seem to remember what an erect member is.

But my eyes are still good 20-10 with glasses and my wrist and foot reflexes are still excellent.

Was going about 110 to my parents' place last weekend. There were no cars out at that time. It's fun to sometimes get the blood flowing once in a while. A little bit faster and maybe the adrenaline would have kicked in.

LOL...I'm not as old as you Larry (you have me beat by 20 years) but I still feel like a 92 dash on a cold winters morn some days

There's nothing wrong with my reflexes and vision (as long as I have my glasses) but approaching 40 has let out most of the steam from my agressive driving nature. I still holler and cuss up a storm at other drivers but I know longer try to run them of the road I am like an alcoholic when it comes to speed. I try to avoid the hard stuff but do try to partake in a "light beer" now and then. I just don't get out much. Once the kids are grown and out of the house I'm sure all hell will break loose

Hey...only horses grow old

I'm older than you, but driving the SVX makes me feel so young.

Oh, I love passing every car on the freeway...

(with the aid of my radar detector)
I did 122mph for the first time last Sunday and it felt so good. I used to get so scared when I go over 80. The car ran so smooth and so quiet, I didn't realize I was speeding that high. I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

I think it's usually spelled "geezers", but a geyser is an essentially unproductive jet of hot air and steam, so maybe your spelling makes more sense.

Hey, I'm 54, I can say things like that and get away with it!!!

Question how many points do you have?

i've 11pts out of 12 to the limit. i love this car but i cannot have fun at that high speed anymore....or else i can't have fun in driving again..... when i was really going fast in 110/50 zone...nothing happened....when i was carelessly going fast in 53/35 zone...he caught me... that's where the last 5pts came from for 3yrs!! .. long!! it's better to control to enjoy the fun/quality in spd limit...better to lose the fun in driving for a period.....
