Re: Japanese SVX with Kindergarden Interior

I saw a set of those on eBay once, lets just say the are not something I would ever put in my car.

I actually like the seats and I bet they wear better than leather. Reminds me of some German cars.

Re: Japanese SVX with Kindergarden Interior

You know what scares me about this picture?
The more I stare at it the more I like it...
Yet it is hideous.

But I like the black doors, wheel, and console..
Wish the carpet was black, and the mats were gray, and the seats were black leather.

There were plain color mats available for the later JDM cars. Those floral green mats were introduced with the first cars, cars that had dark leather seats. Those 'floral' mats look great in the early JDM cars, the cars with dark interior, and GREEN GLASS.

I am NOT saying it is an OEM subaru, I am saying it is an OEM core with metal thingies, there is a difference.

And to add to it, I was discussing it with 1986Nate few hours ago... we concluded that it seems there is a third party involved in customizing OEM rads for SVXi in Japan. Same as the alternators with Maniac Electric where you send them cores+$ and they send you back upgraded ones.
Rather than a 3rd party customising SVX radiators, the owners possibly took their SVX the to the same chain of radiator shops when the original plastic tank burst and the tank was replaced with a tank similar to what the shop did last time.
If you look at the two pictures that you supplied there are differences between the two, and remember the radiator shop would make the new tank out of appropriate generic parts that they stock, welded together into the appropriate form.

That's what happened when my tank burst, I took it to a radiator shop who had done a couple before and they made a similar new tank and pressed it onto my original core, it was the most cost effective option.

It's not the prettiest of things but it does the job nicely.

As for floor mats, luckily I don't have those hideous floral mats, my S4 came with nice high quality, neutral grey mats with a cast aluminium "Alcyone SVX" badges riveted on.................

I really like the mats with the cast aluminium Alcyone SVX" badges riveted on.

I kept the JDM ones of my Alcyone XT6. Still think they are super cool lol

Very similar to the patterns you would see on the floor of a pub.. all the better to hide the vomit

Is it just me or is the suede detail on the doors and passenger dash silver??
