Re: CNC machined parts for SVXes coming

They look great!
I'll be interested in about a month when I sort out things financially as I'm going to Florida this week to get another SVX.

Re: CNC machined parts for SVXes coming

I think that looks great, Steve! What's the inlay color done with, just regular old paint I guess? I'm thinking I could find a paint close enough to Laguna Blue.

I'm thinking that'd be a great little money maker for any XT/XT6 customers too! Another think the XT/XT6 crowd would like is the "Flat 6" plate instead of the ol' "H6", or even something never offered, "Alcyone".

And if you're worried about how to hold the things still while it's milling... hey, what'd you and Becky have kids for anyway?

Do you own planetsvx? If so, I have some questions about the Euro bumper.

I have a proposition for you. It appears that suppliers are dumping their inventory of Brembo rotors for this car. The prices are incredible. Can you take these and mill slots into them? Maybe you can capture a slot profile from another rotor for the car? The final product would be a slotted Brembo rotor!

Nevermind, I just went back and saw that it has to be aluminum or plastic.

BTW, there is nothing special about brembo blanks. pretty much the same rotor you can get from any auto parts store except without the lifetime warranty. But atleast you get to say you have "brembo rotors"

Brembos good (premium) rotors (cross drilled and or slotted) are made of a completely different construction.

Not every blank rotor is the same. Quality of materials varies, manufacturing processes vary, venting schemes vary. I seriously doubt some low end blank is equivalent to Brembo blanks in every single respect. Brembo's high end rotors probably do start out with even better blanks but that doesn't mean their entry level stuff is the same as some chinese crap being sold on ebay.
