SVX Magazine Sighting

Got the March 10 issue of Classic Motor Sports today and low and behold there is an SVX in it.

Its a great magazine to begin with evolved from what was British Car about 10 years ago. I've held a subscription for about 23 years now so I won't tell you about the article it is referenced in. Go out an buy a copy for yourselves! It will make you forget about your tranny for a day. Trust me. Oh and since I just got it today I'd suspect newstands in a couple weeks.

Anybody get a copy yet? I think every member needs to buy a copy to put beside their Automotive Attrocities book!

Is the SVX one of Peter Brocks "21 Icons of Modern Design"?

Now come on, do you really think the icon who penned the 63 Vette and Cobra Coupe really thinks an SVX is one of the 21 Best Ever Timeless Designs? Can I have some of what you're smoking!!! All I'll say is it is well worth the $5.95 cover price and for a messly $25 shipped I'll send you mine sans this years Mitty Poster.

Re: SVX Magazine Sighting

Well, it was designed by Guigaro. I bought the March issue on-line. I hope that is the issue.

Re: SVX Magazine Sighting

Is this magazine commonly sold in stores? I stopped at a book store while I was out today and they didn't have it. Maybe I'll have to order it online...

Last place I got it was at Waldenbooks in the 80s but think I've seen it at Borders. I doubt you'll find it at any standard mag section in a box store though. I really doubt the March issue would be out yet as my subscription version just arrived

Re: SVX Magazine Sighting

OK. Just got the copy I orderd on-line. I was right. It was one of Brock's 21 Icons.

Pick up one of these really rare and wonderful machines-sold from mode lyears 1992 through 1997- and you'll find a worldwide kinship in a bunch of loyal, enthusiastic owners. The SVX's unique glass-to-glass "window within a window" design created a beautiful greenhouse.

But does it really matter. No one here has a clue about what it takes to keep a car alive past 20 years. They would rather ***** about the lack or respect their car gets, they beat there cars, they fraKen5speed their cars, they hide their cars, they don't take them to car shows,\ and they don't race them. The SVX is already a sad footnote of history. Figured I might drum up some mag sales for one of the only american published classic sports car mags but alas, everyone here was too busy talking about how much they hate eachother to realize it might be something to buy that I'm guessing your the only otherone here who bought a copy.

What's wrong with the VW Golf? My Golf was great it was fun to drive and felt fast even though it really wasn't. Kinda like the SVX, I guess, only the SVX feels more luxurious.

I'll try to find the magazine, but I don't know if my Borders or Barnes and Nobles even sells SubieSport anymore, crazy bastards.

Actually, I bought a copy too, but it hasn't arrived yet. Is there more in the article, or is it just that little segment? And BTW, I have kept my fair share of 20+ year old cars alive, thanks for the generalization though.

I went to their website, and became a registered member.

I also clicked on the link that had something to do with receiving their next issue free; I wonder if maybe they will send me the one you're speaking of?
