Wheels on backwards eh? Guess they are gonna stay that way since the tires are directional. Maybe mine are right and all of yours are backwards! lol

Mods? Nah.. its just a driver. Its too heavy and underpowered to be considered a worthwhile pursuit. I plan to just keep it clean and original. I did find a link on ECUtune and I like the idea of being able to run 87oct. Last night I filled up at $3.00/gallon for premium.

I am going to head to pick & pull tomorrow and see if I can find a spare. 5x114.3 IIRC.. So that should be too hard to find.

You probably know already, but in case you don't, it is a limp home spare. A regular wheel and tire will not fit in the same place with the cover still on.

Make sure the tire is the proper size too or you will screw up your trans.

The spare tire is not the same size. You need to put the fuse in the FWD option and put the spare on the back. It is a limp home spare only.

I just meant that it doesn't seem like a simple task for the average car buyer to have to go through all of that for a flat. Most people don't even open the owner's manual

The spare has a much smaller rolling circumference than the normal tires. Like Earl said, you have to use the fuse or you risk doing damage.

Well I got some work done today!

Dome light... broken again! LOL Guess I am going to have to replace the bulb.

CV axle replaced. Simple and easy! BTW if any parts store tells you they dont have one for your AWD SVX, tell them they are exactly the same as the FWD ones. This was confirmed by using the book. The parts guy seemed very annoyed when I asked to see his FENCO & GSP book. Then I confirmed fitment (same as the late 90's 2.5rs) and was on my way. Only cost $69 for a brand new one. I was just going to replace the boot but for that price, new it is. I did pick up a spare boot though just in case.

Slapped on a new rear wiper blade.

Performed the T/B by pass mod as I do on every car I own.

De-greased the engine bay and underneath the car. God I love having a steam pressure washer!

Found that the Y pipe is some hacked together muffler shop job. That will not do so I am going to order a bunch of mandrel bends a high flow cat and possibly a new muffler and build a new exhaust. Removing the pre-cats and resonator should make that boxer rumble come through a bit more.

Tomorrow I am going to NAPA and pick up 2 of their hood struts from the how-to article.

Then as soon as I get a reply from the many PM's sent on NASIOC I hope to add a late model HU and source the wiring kit from our supplier here.

Heck I even managed to clean my nasty garage floor!

Let me be the first to say, the exhaust on our cars simply won't sound good that way. Generally, it's best to keep the pre-cats in. The svx just doesn't get the characteristic boxer sound due to the extra 2 cylinders an the fact it doesn't use a single plane crank like the 4 bangers do.
using a fairly stock set up but using high flow components makes a fairly quiet but good sounding exhaust note that'll compliment the svx's grand touring nature

I just ordered a set of hood struts from NAPA using the How-To article. Should have an OEM '03 WRX radio purchased tonight as well! Progress is being made.

Now I just need to figure out what speakers to go with to replace ALL of my stock ones. Car audio is definitely not my strong suit.
