US SVX vs JDM SVX

From what I gather the following is excluded in the U.S. model:

1. Heated seats
2. Powered Mirrors
3. Better sounds system
4. Different transmission

What other additions or corrections to above? are there?

For the life of me in not saving the picture while I surf around only to later wonder where I was looking... I remember seeing a bar in between the climate control section with more icons... a status panel? (where the ones I see are just filled in with the wood grain). Was the JDM version released have this panel or not or was it strictly concept/prototype material? Also, if it was released in the JDM version has anyone yanked it and fitted them into the U.S. version?
*(edit: ah, it wasn't photo, it was video I had seen on youtube... and it was the JDM. I'm not sure how much of a pain in the ass that would be to convert for the U.S. and probably not worth it even...)
I also kick myself for not bookmarking the concept picture with the voice activation computer in the dash.

(*Deleted really ignorant statement about the powered mirrors which I have now seen in action, thanks to youtube)

No joke? That sounds outrageous haha... interesting.
Anyone with pics of the audio controls on the steering wheel?

So that's where the power switch mod idea came from huh?

Add to that list the "Econ" light. The opening itself is present in the US models, but the light doesn't light up...

In my jdm accessory book they had 2 roof racks, snow chains, rear mounted 6cd changer, bigger rear spoiler, 3 different rear decal window options, SVX boxer 3.3 side logos, different interior wood. Theres more stuff in the brochure.

That's actually on UK cars, not Japanese ones.

Crazy how many optional accessories they offered in Japan, when quantity exported would suggest the U.S. was the dominant market. Why not offer more of that cool stuff here where they sold twice as many cars?

Likewise with the standard and optional equipment. Why'd they make two different climate control systems? And if the JDM one is superior (it looks cooler at least, with the middle row of buttons being replaced by a thin readout screen with heat/ac related icons similar to those found on top-end climate systems in GM's), why not give that to the bigger market U.S.? Same with steering wheel mount audio controls, that was already common in the U.S. by the early 90's so seems like something they would definitely have in mind for "luxury coupe" to sell in the U.S.

It's even strange they had different trannies, no 4WS, etc. Seems like they did a lot of extra work to a few cars they kept home when they were desperately trying to sell a slightly lesser version overseas. Not saying the extras would have helped any in the end, but maybe?

Heated seats is on the list, but isn't that a Canada only option? I didn't think any JDMs had that. But maybe the "Canada Only" I've heard before was only relating the area to North America.

Again, an example of something that would have added an extra touch of luxury for U.S. buyers. Especially considering a large percentage were sold where heated seats actually would be useful.

It's a 12 disk CD changer. It's absolutely huge, about 8 inches square and a foot long. Fantastic in it's day, but it's old technology and skips at every bump in the road. I've kept the original sound system in my claret car because I like using the buttons on the steering wheel.

You have to remember that the SVX was considerably more expensive outside the US. In Europe, for example, it was only marketed as a fully loaded luxury car, similar to a Jaguar, BMW or Porsche. It was priced around 60K US Dollars.

The steering wheel audio controls are not compatable with the airbag wheel. I believe the USA had a legal requirement for an airbag, hence you didn't get the audio controls.
