2007 Mid Atlantic Region Event #1
Ripken Field - Baltimore, Maryland - September 22nd, 2007

The Subaru of America Mid Atlantic Region is pleased to host the 2007 Subaru Challenge Event Mid Atlantic Region Event #1 at Ripken Field in Baltimore, Maryland.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you what the Mid Atlantic Region Subaru Challenge is and what it is not.

It is…

· A Subaru customer appreciation event designed to enhance your Subaru ownership experience.

· An exclusive, Subaru only event. No other make vehicle will be allowed to compete.

· Your opportunity to have fun with your fellow Subaru enthusiasts and to meet some of them in person for the first time.

· Your opportunity to test your Subaru’s capabilities and your driving skills in a controlled and safe environment.

· Your opportunity to see some pretty tricked out Subaru’s and be able to talk to their owner/creators.

What the Mid Atlantic Region Subaru Challenge is not…

· It is not and never will be a forum for Subaru personnel to take pictures and record VIN’s to void future warranty claims.

· A boring waste of your time.

Please accept our personal invitation to attend this 2007 Mid Atlantic Region Subaru Challenge Event. Keep checking this site for more details and take a look at the previous events section. It only costs $40 to participate and you will have ten times that much fun if you attend. Take advantage of the On-Line Registration (Coming Soon!) as only 125 entries will be accepted and we look forward to seeing you in Baltimore!

Entry Fee: $40

Entry Fee includes participation in the Subaru Challenge event competition and refreshments at the event.
The entry fee is $40 this year, and that includes the autoX, lunch, refreshments and a gift package which you receive at check-in.

I'm registered in DS.

-Chike

Thumbs up

That's awesome Tom. Looking forward to seeing you there. Hopefully, I won't have my game face on and actually be sociable this year!

I see Bill is registered in FP?! Have you started to gut the racecar? You need to make it out to some wdcr events inorder to get some 'seat time' before the big day buddy!

Chike,

FP as in SVreX II FP, my friend. Just have to find some rims for the 295/35-17 V710s and a better front seat, then get some seat time -- probably a couple of Level 2 or 3 classes before the Challenge. I'm also working on some "homegrown" power mods to, hopefully, get it into the 12s in the 1/4.

I'm glad to hear the SVreX is in your possession. 295/35/17 V710s are all nice and dandy but won't do you diddly if you don't get seat time asap!

In FP are you allowed to do transmission conversions, if so, I'd get a manual in that car unless there's one already! Just think, inorder to be nationally competitive in FP, on a national style course you have to be faster than the guys/gals in SM & SM2!!!

He's gotta bring the World's FIRST supercharged SVX! I have to haul the family. so I'll be ariving in an Outback, ( in BLACK). I have to drop the family at the daughters house and grab the son-in-law. ( they live in Bel-Air and he used to cut the grass at Ripkin).

Only gotta figure out what to do with Grandma while we're gone!
(She came to visit 7 years ago and is still here), but I'm OK with that.

I guess we'll see who has a faster reaction time, a 'Young Tom' from Philly or an old burned out Redneck from the 'foothills' of Appalacia. Should be interesting......

Tom,
I want to take a moment to THANK you, for the vote of confidance that you have shown in allowing me to actually DRIVE your car in the local meets.

I feel that the HONOR of driving your car in these compititions has allowed me to show what I can actually do with a well prepared car, ( that I could not afford to build for myself).

It takes a TRUE friend to put so much effort and hard earned dollars into a vehicle, then hand the keys to a guy that you have known for a relatively short time.

Now, we are going to the 'World Stage'. The Subi-guys will KNOW what YOU can do, I just hope and pray that I don't let you down.....

Jerry

I told you where to get a seat. I'll be damned if I'll pay $40 to autox though. That's outrageous!

$40 is getting on the high side...if it goes up much higher than this in coming years, it won't be on my autoX schedule much longer.

For 2.5-3x more I can pay for a weekend of hillclimbing 2 days with 2 sessions a day including dinner plus I don't have to worry about clipping cones. The trees and banks provide ample incentive to keep ya on track.

Just checked the 'tally'....

There are 63 cars registered and 20 of them are in SM class. At the time that We registered Tom's car there were 2 SM cars. Old Tom and Young Tom. Now the Moran brothers are in there too!(and 16 guys that we don't know). SM is the biggest field represented. I hope that supercharger gets here soon!
