Insurance... dun... dun... dun....

Ok, so how are the insurance rates with the SVX? I found out the other day that companies consider it an exotic car which means insurance rates are past the sky. Is this true? How would insurance rates be for say no one in particular, but a guy 20 years old with say 7 tickets...

Well..New Jersey has the highest insurance rates in America (Mabey mew york finally cought up..)
Im 20 with a clean driving record, besides the two points they have on there when you start driving ASSUMING youll crash (Mother****ers)
I pay a hair under 200$ a month for just liability. They consider the car a touring coupe, not a sports car.
(Ill asnswer a few questions right now)Yes, this was the cheapest I could find. Yeah...Just liability. No, im not lying. Nope...just the svx. Actually..I saved 40$ a month switching to the SVX because of its additional saftey crapola that the cadillac didnt have.
If that doesnt help, itll probly make you feel better

I am 20. Had one minor accident but was deemed not my fault. I made no claim and the other woman's insurance had to pay for her damages. ($130 estimate to repair my 3 inch bumper scratch... $3600 estimate to fix her volvo )

I have Liability, collision and personal injury coverage for a little under $150 a month.

The overall value of the car isn't very high, so insuring it isn't that much more .

My insurance on my Legacy is 700 a year (That's 60 a month). And I'm 18, with no tickets or accidents.

My dad said that putting a SVX on would cost him $500 a year...

For some reason i have the highest insurance rates here (but i dont have the exact costs right now) I'm 19, no accidents or tickets (but my older brother has had 3 and 2 tickets so that ruined our good drivers discount), had straight A's in HS, i took drivers ed, i was 18 when i got my license, and i got a perfect score on the drivers test. I have liability and glass coverage (its 6 dollars a month and more than worth if i need to replace my windshield!) i think i'm being charged for full coverage. We've had issues with our agent before similar to that but i havent called to check.

Call your insurance company and ask them (they may not have the svx in their database. Mine didnt.) they can tell you what it would cost with your driving record and other discounts.

with it being my second car on my policay, it is like $40 - $60 a month. My othe car is a 2k Maxima, and my total every 6 months is something like $650. That is one speeding ticket. it was closer to $450 before.

Wow, for 2 SVX on one policy, full coverage on both, two 25+ drivers with good records, it's like $2,000-2,200 CAD per year. You Quebecers must have government-regulated insurance. Car insurance is little more than highway robbery, I say!

$50 a month for liability with Geico, much more for full coverage.

What it came down to was I was paying more for full coverage than the out of pocket costs of damages under liability.

Now with a garage, people will not randomly hit my windsheild with a bat or throw boulders through the back window in the middle of the night, so I am not worried.

All-state, but I'm under my dad's plan with the good student discount no accidents and defensive driving course.

Allstate seems to give little discounts here and there like: the active seatbelts, abs, alarm etc... I dont remember specifically but i'm pretty sure they took like 5-15 dollars off the policy for each of those.

I think it's also cheaper because they are also our homeowner's insurance so when you have both of them you get a better deal.
