I figured you'd both be interested! Alan, was this past weekend one that you worked, or is it this coming weekend? I'm trying to project which weekends you might be free.

Sundays are good here too. The wife works on Sundays but as long as she has a couple weeks notice, she can get the time off. Where did you have the meet last time? Just let me know when and where and I'll be there.

I would like four Beef Burritos with extra cheese, some hot salsa, on the side, four beef tacos, four Golden Margaritas, four pitchers of cold Coors Light, and, Diana, what would YOU like?

And some to go!

Tom, Is that your way of saying that you'll be there no matter what date we choose?

Budbaer, the last time we kicked the meet off at the Dormont pool parking lot on Banksville Rd., then went just up the street to José & Tony's Mexican restaurant. We didn't waste much time getting out of the lot because it was so cold and nasty, we needed to thaw out. (()) But this time we'll probably have to escape the heat and cool down!

This Sunday is sooner than I'd expected! And it doesn't leave much time to drum up some others. But, if that's what eveyone else wants, I could certainly make it. The next obvious choice would be 2 weekends from this one.

According to an online review, José and Tony's is on open on Sundays from 4-9 PM.

I did a search on "Pittsburgh" and PM'ed the handful of members I found to let them know we were planning a meet. Does anyone else know of any local members who aren't subscribed to this thread?

Min, a meet, as you've probably guessed, is just an actual meeting of SVXers...and our cars.

Unfortunately, your every-other weekend is at odds with Alan's. A conflict already!

I just noticed that this Sunday is my brother's birthday, so maybe we should plan for the 24th or something.

As it turns out, holding it on the 24th would free me of an obligation that day! But before we lock in on that date, I'd like to find out if it works for Landshark. If it doesn't we might as well consider either the weekend before or after to accomodate JaySVX.

Since there's been no more input, we'll stick with Sunday, June 24th. I PMed Landshark, and got a "definite maybe" for that date. It's less than 2 weeks away now. If it starts to look like a bad day (too many conflicts or a day of heavy rain), then we can push it back a week - which would give JaySVX a chance of making it. We'll meet at the Dormont Pool parking lot again. Either before or after we go to eat, we can drive somewhere that would make a good photo op. One idea I have off the top of my head is the West End Overlook and/or Mt. Washington. I'm not sure how well the views there will work from the POV of their parking lots/spaces. Maybe I'll do some scouting in the meantime. Let me know if you have any other ideas. Please post suggestions for what time we should meet.

I used to live by the West End Overlook and there is no photo ops from the parking lot, at least not with the city in the background. Unless you like the lovely view of the Historic Elliot Crack Houses. Perhaps Mt Washington, it would be cool to have a line of SVXi on Grandview Av with the city skyline in the background. You would have to shoot from across the street, but I think it would make a cool picture. Another idea would be the parking lot between Station Square and the West End Circle, on Carson St, it's got a view of the city and large parking lot to work with.
