The "grey" network

Well, I have heard that we are referd to as the "grey" network from the Yahoo guys. I guess its good be by recongnised as something rather than nothing at all. For grins and giggles, a friend of mine (with a 13 second Eagle Talon) was browsing a similar forum as this, but for DSMs. I looked closley and saw they run the same saoftware. Lets look a a few things here for just a moment....

Intro page: http://www.dsmtalk.com

Its nice.... if you like a bunch of animated gifs! The layout is fine and I think overall the page is more "appealing" than ours. But, whats with all the ads? I do hope that the ads are paying for the service to be run!

Forums page: http://www.dsmtalk.com/forum

An overall differnt layout than ours here. Lots of flash and eye candy. But also a bit slow? IMHO. Too many ads? Too much flash and or garbage? I am guessing that although our pages here are a bit boreing, is this an example of how we DONT want things to look?

Also while searching their treads for anything SVX related, who has the SVX with an alarm connected to some ungodly loud unit that would cause someone to, "Drop a load in their boxers" anyways?!?!

I frequented that site quite a bit when I was looking for a DSM but I have to agree with your assessment . Substance always matters and beauty is only skin deep. Flash and glitz even less so.

My 2 cents..

The blue network?

If this is the "grey" network, I guess that Yahoo is the "blue" network?

wow - that is very slow. I 'd much rather chip in a few bucks each year than put up with the speed and advertising. The format reminded me more of the I-club than here.

Chris,

First, Dr. KuOH3 on the Yahoo site is the one who first refered to this site as the Lite Gray network site. He did this as a jibe at Aredubjay when Aredub, was posting on Yahoo last week.

Second, I tried to continue the joke by asking if the Lite Gray Network is the first step to the Dark Side and refering to the Yahoo site as the White & Blue (all that's missing is Red).

No offense was meant by the above, only humor.

After all, Aredub discriminates against the color Yellow (on cars) and no one takes offense; even though discrimination against COLOR is against the law in this country.
[Once again this is humor directed at Randy. I'm sure he won't take offense at it. Rather he will return with a jibe against me, which will cause me to laugh at myself.]

Don,

Gettysburg is about 1.5 to 2 hrs. from Reading.

Blue and Gray

I was thinking that if we continuted this "Blue and Gray" thing, we could have a "reenactment" over at Gettysburg. Randy could represent the Grays, and pull a "Picket's Charge" up the hill into the face of Yahoo Bluecoats with....with....wait a minute....they are taking off their jackets....they are...REVERSING them?....the inside lining is...is....YELLOW!

I guess you just can't change history... Don

Don,

I see the 'War Between the States' continues.
As a big Yankee fan, Ill bring a big box of Dixie cups to make y'all feel right a home at Reading III.l

Most cars up here, including SVX's, are flying the American flag (stars & stripes).
Are the cars in dixie flyng this flag or the 'Stars & Bars' ?

Larry III
PS: I have this week in the 'We Got Osama' office pool . Wish me luck.

Boy, that should make it easier than silly men who run around with bright red coats and white straps across their chest that virtually says, "X marks the spot." Yellow is an extremely visible color and should not prove a challenge to pick off. You all have heard the expression, "He shoots like a Kentuckian," haven't you?

Hmmmm. I noticed you haven't revealed your location, there, Beav. You sure you don't live in Kentucky?
