Sorry haven't really been on the network in a bit. Pics of the latest developments. Making more progress but there's still plenty to do and even more to buy

No I don't think the r160 would have made it far. It's an R200 in a full subframe and suspension out of a 350z

Re: Lsvx-t

I just randomly rejoined this forum after pondering an LS swap in an SVX and here this is. Good luck Tom, can't wait to see progress.

(you grabbed my svx back in 06/07 to do a 5MT swap while I was in Iraq)

Re: Lsvx-t

Hey man! Yea this has been lurking in my head for the last couple of years and I'm finally putting it together. I will say this, a 5mt swap is an absolute walk in the park compared to this lol. I have already made multiple variations of parts and configurations and then scrapped the idea and started over on several aspects of this project.

Update pics for those of you who are following. Said redos are listed in the pics. Nothing is set in stone. I might change it again before I'm happy with it lol

Re: Lsvx-t

What are the fittings you used for the steering rack? My lines are all corroded to hell and if I can replace them with -AN's that would be pretty sweet.

They are generic 14 and 16mm iring fittings. Not sure if they will work with the svx rack. I'm running the quick ratio 15 sti rack. I've got a part# around somewhere

Re: Lsvx-t

Giday Tom, what box and rear end are you thinking of using behind that engine?

Harvey.

Tr6060 6 speed from 5th gen camaro. Currently going to run 350z r200 with axles and full suspension w/ spindles in the rear. Hoping it will hold up but if it breaks I am sure I can manage something on the back end pretty simply now that I have removed the factory fuel tank and have loads of room to work with. Good to hear from you Harvey

Re: Lsvx-t

Any weight targets? How does your motor/tranny compare to stock, weightwise? I recall hearing that LS motors are not that heavy.

Re: Lsvx-t

Is this build for the track only or will it be on the streets too?

The engine is for sure about 80-100 lbs heavier but more than half of that is cut by the light weight transmission. So overall I would imagine an additional 60lbs heavier drivetrain wise. I might have lost weight in the rear of the car with the aluminum subframe from the Nissan. What's most important is that the engine is so much further back now that it's mostly behind the front axle which should help in the balance. I will get it weighed in eventually
