I was trying not to use prototypes or concept cars. I think all of these are real cars. But you're right, I forgot about the Delorean.

Re: Split windows

You may call me a liar, but a Mazda AZ-1 just rolled past my office window on a car transporter. I'm certain that's what it was because a few days ago there was a huge exotic car collection seized by Federal marshals was sold at auction in my town (Salt Lake City, Utah) a few days ago, and an AZ-1 was on the sales list. I was tempted to go bid on the AZ-1 because it was JDM RHD (never imported to the US officially) and had the split window. Sadly, there was no SVX in the nearly 200 vehicle collection. (There was a Delorean, but I didn't see it.)

Here's a link to the local news story.

Re: Split windows

Number 6 was a Mitsuoka Orochi. A very strange and interesting japanese supercar.

I just found another one:

Bristol Fighter. Allegedly more powerful than a Bugatti Veyron.

Re: Split windows

Never heard of [ nor saw] the Mitsuoka Phil. Trick question, that one. Can it be considered production? Did they make more than one? Very organic shape.

The Fighter is nice. They are all sort of quirky, and easy to like because of that. Did they make many Fighters? They had an earlier model called the Beaufighter I believe? All their cars have an aeronautical connection.

Very fond of Bristols, me.

Re: Split windows

Yeah I like bristols too, particularly when there's two of them together. A nice pair of bristols, as they say, (Do u recognise what Supercar this is?)

I know the Mitsuoka Viewt (Mk II Jag lookalike - from some angles) was a bit of an evil clue. But the Orochi is in production and you can buy one for about 90K USD. James May tested it on Top Gear. If they ever become affordable on the 2nd hand market, I'd buy one just because it's interesting and different.

Another production car I forget was the Isdera Commendatore.

Re: Split windows

Sure I do. We Irish know where Bristol City is, both sides, even in the dark!

The Viewt is about as handsome as a newt. Ugh. Plus it's built on a Nissan Micra or Nissan Primera body frame as well. The Japanese have a number of strange oddities mimicking Jags, Rollers and Mercs, and they rarely work.

Then now and again they get inspired and do cars like the Figaro and Escargo which are fabulous!

I'll look up this Orochi then.

No it wasn't a production car, but it did make it 2 the movies in the Wraith. Early 80's 84?? was like a 400+ HP 4 banger

They called it the M4S.
