tires different on a 92 and a 97?

Yes Keith, that is correct. If I remember correctly (sorry, it's late) they are 215/55/16 for the 97's whereas they are 225/50/16 for the 92-96 models.

The 1997 SVX had switched to a 215/55/16 tire as fortold by The Profits!

























215/55/16 were cheaper.

Yes. All of the wheels were the same dimensions. 1992-1996 models have 225 50 16, and 1997 has 215 55 16. As OT said, this was probably for cost-cutting reasons. I suspect the 97 grill was also added for the same reason.
