Gran Turismo And The SVX

Being a huge Gran Turismo fan, I feel that one of the greatest things about that game is being able to hunt down cars you've owned and driven and going nuts with them in a virtual world. But for some asinine reason GT hasn't been including the Alcyone is their latest games and it would be a crying shame if it was left out yet again in GT5. This blows my mind as theres 1/4 of a million slight varients of popular Japaneese cars (RX-7, Miata, Skyline etc.) but not so much as one SVX. It breaks my heart. Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this.

It was in the first two. Considering the limited product and limited popularity of the car it doesn't suprise me. I'm certain there are many other rare cars with small followings that were also left out. If they included every care ever produced, it would recure the storage space of 10 CDs.

Re: Gran Turismo And The SVX

I saw this car list awhile ago, and the SVX is on the list.

Check it out:

Re: Gran Turismo And The SVX

I understand the limited production but the road going carients of the group b rally cars of the 80's would be a big exception. Not to mention that there are dozens upon dozens of cars with under 100BHP. And theres even a Honda Element in the psp version. An Element? come on...

But thanks for that list. Very promising stuff. I suppose I was just wondering if anyone thought this was a great injustice.

Oh, of course it is. The SVX was one of the most raceable cars on GT1 and 2, and had tons of options to develop power, they even had one or two race paint options exclusive for the SVX!!

Bluray discs can hold up to 50Gigs, so that is not the problem.

the problem is the time it takes to model each car - its easier to make 15 variants of a 300Z than 1 SVX. i can't remember exactly how long, but i read it takes some ridiculous amount of time to model each car, something like 6 months of man-hours.
