Re: What a Shame... Hippies!!!

let it happen... I have a dislike for Vanagons because they are uglier than sin IMHO. It would be nice if they could pick up an engine and harness for less than an entire running car though.. But the truth of the matter is... That day will only come when owners start taking better care of their cars so they are not worth nothing at the end of the day

Re: What a Shame... Hippies!!!

You have to admire the amount of work he is putting into it. As much as I hate to see an svx in such nice shape get gutted, he is doing a great job with the motor.

Re: What a Shame... Hippies!!!

Wasn't that SVX posted here first?

Why didn't a SVX fan buy it for $800?

Can't blame the VW guy for taking advantage of a deal like that.

No, actually it wasn't. Wrong forum.

It was sold after the engine was lost.

My mistake. Too bad the original owner didn't let us know about it first.

I think it is payback time: We need to buy VW vans and put their motors into our SVXS'.......that will show them

Re: What a Shame... Hippies!!!

Its a cool idea. I own both, a 92 Pearl SVX, and an 84 VW Vanagon Westfalia. Each vehicle is unique, and takes a certain person to like it. Keeping different or unique cars on the road is fun, no matter what model. I just finished a conversion to a Ford Focus motor in the VW, doubling the horsepower over stock. I would have done the EG33 swap if the costs weren't more than the Focus swap. I have ridden in a SVX motor swapped van, fun to say the least.

Thats true. I understad your point.
But then the price must rise on the svx that are for sale. Then the value of the ''parts car'' also rise.

It's fun cause it's an svx motor. I bet it's more fun in the svx though right?
