Re: Ski RoundTop.

I'll be there tomorrow , Whitetail Thursday, back to Roundtop to take my daughter tubing on Friday then ski again both Sat and Sunday. Probably been there 30 times this year. Just look for the Grey Jag with a PA temp registration on the rear window.

I like hunter on good non crowded days. If conditions there are icy it is definately worth a trip over the mountain once you tire of the conditions to hit Windam. I think they have a ticket sharing thing. I've been going up there for the past 8 years as Windam Arms gives a great discount to Roundtop employees. I think some years we paid $35 a night for a room!!!

Re: Ski RoundTop.

I am not exactly sure which one I will actually go to but it is going to be in that area. I haven't been to Hunter yet, but I skied at Windham last time I was up there. I hear Bellayre is nice too.

In PA, Ski Roundtop is very close to me so I go there a lot, but I prefer Jack Frost or Elk Mountain. I haven't been to Whitetail yet I hear it is supposed to be pretty good.

Re: Ski RoundTop.

Bellairye is a distant 3rd (unless you're going on a weekend as it doesn't get as crowded). It is set up a little weird (kind of like 7 springs in that there is a huge flat top that you have to hike over to get from trail to trail. It isn't bad when busy but when I was there it was late in the year so they didn't have all the lifts going hence it got tiring getting to the slope you wanted to hit. If your taking your daughter I'd go with Windam over Hunter as it is much less intimidating. Hunter is that old style narrow trail mountain. Which is somewhat spread out on the bottom. Windam everything funnels into 2 areas.

Went to Whitetail today for the first time. Everyone I've talked to is right. Great mountain BUT dreadful snow. High temp was in the mid 30s and it was 2 foot piles of mush with tons of thin spots. Had my daughter so I didn't hit more than 1 intermediate slop but will be heading back with friends monday morning when they should have s decent amount of well groomed new stuff.

Re: Ski RoundTop.

I like Blue Mountain. It's as close as Mountain Creek and doesn't have fail like MC.

Re: Ski RoundTop.

I like Blue Mountain too, it's where I learned to ski. The only thing is that it gets pretty crowded on the weekends.
