transmission question...
Hello,
I noticed last night in my 92 that when I let off the gas from say 60mph, the revs don't drop down at all. Its close to 2200-2300 RPM at 60mph, and when I let off the gas it slowly starts to drop as I decelerate, basically its engine brakeing. This only seems to happen after the torque converter locks up, because its fine when driving in 3rd, and the RPM's drop if I let off the gas from 30-40mph. What could be causing this? I had the transmission rebuilt roughly 10,000 miles ago, and its been fine since. Could it simply be the TPS sensor is out of wack? I have to check codes, and will do that on my lunch break today! Thanks, Joe |

Re: transmission question...
This is the normal operation of a locking torque converter. Nothing is wrong. The engine rpm matching the road speed is the lockup.
