Your opinion needed and maybe your SVX

I totaled my 1995 in December, but I just had an idea.
If someone has a good condition (body) SVX with a blown engine I am in the market.

I could put my engine into the new car and voila. I'm back in SVX Valhalla.
Questions to y'all
1. Estimated cost of SVX sans good engine. 95 or newer.
2. Estimated cost to remove crap engine and replace with mine.
3. Is this idiotic?

Help me out SVX brethren.

the car you wrecked...does it have a good trans? Your pretty unlikely to find one with a bad engine, but bad transes's'e's are pretty easy to get. like concussions

One in decent shape with a bad trans typically goes for between 800-1500, depending on the condition, mileage, trim level, ect.

It should be hard o find one MISSING the engine (Say, from a vanagon swap) for roughtly the same price.

if you really, really keep your eyes peeled for a while, you can find one with no motor, trans, and other bits for EASILLY under a grand
