Question Intake Questions???

Ok heres the deal. The intake on my car is now off, and alot of the tubing under it was damaged. Now all of the black tubing was hard and broke if bent at all..... can this tubing be replaced with flexable tubing, or do you have to buy a special kit? And if so where do you get it... and how much $$$? Any help on this matter would be helpful. Thanks ~Dennis

The best way to replace it is to call Subaru or go to Subaru parts.com and pick out what you need. The .com would probly be your best bet becouse trying to tell a parts guy what hoses you need is a PITA.

You could try and use some regular hose but even most parts stores don't carry PVC hose that big. Regular heater hose would probly get you back on the road untill you get the right hoses but it will eventually swell and fall off becous of oil saturation.

Or you could try and find some good used ones.

Would definitely be much cheaper to get some used hoses. 'Chelle (thndrmtn92svx) has a parts car and might be able to help you out. Shoot her a PM.

I think you are talking about the little vacuum lines al over the underside of the intake. They sell that in bulk at most any auto store. Look for a display rack with hoses and hose connetors and you will find it. I think the size you need is 1/8th inch but bring in a section of the hose and verify that.

While you are at it replace any of the hoses that haven't cracked yet because they will.

Also - be really careful with the little inline 1 way valve that connects to the black air box for the IRIS valve. It will snap apart pretty easily and thow a tiny spring and plug out.
