Need help identifying this
Howdy all, I'm new to the '93 SVX engine that was converted into my 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon (the power of this engine is AWESOME!) and just discovered this loose wire below the power steering fluid reservoir. No idea what it is or what it connects to — the harness doesn't lead to anything obvious — and I don't see anything to correspond in my Chilton's manual.
It's clear that the wire has worn/vibrated off of the connector below the reservoir but I can't tell if that's part of the reservoir, and if so, would it be a sensor for the engine diagnostics? Engine runs fine, so I'm not worried but would rather not wait for the worst to happen. Thanks for any guidance. This group is a great resource! |

Re: Need help identifying this
It's likely the wire to the little switch on the pump that tells the engine to increase the RPM when the steering is cranked at idle to avoid stalling.
