Yup

OK, if all else fails, read the whole thread! Got that they're ROH Drifts and they're not cheap...particularly the race black ones that I like, but I'd still appreciate your comments on ride quality and if those Pirellis are quiet or not.
And could you post a profile shot of your car from the side? I'd really like to confirm my suspicion that those 18s really upgrade the car's looks. The angle shots you've posted thus far are v. nice but the Tire Rack usess the profile shot for good reason. Provides a little better sense of proportion. Make sense? Also provides a good excuse to see another view of your great looking car...the SVX is particularly stinning in black and your new silver wheels are really sharp!
Thanks for all the info and photos,
WGJ

The pzero nero m+s tires are great all around except for drag racing traction. All those water grooves that make the tire so good in the rain also mean there's less tread on the pavement. Wet weather performance is the most important thing to me. I don't want to wrap a stage III svx around any poles or trees.

Someday if the opportunity arises I'll try to take a complete profile shot.

Profile shot, ride quality

Thanks for the prompt response...however, you didn't mention ride quality and noise as compared to stock. Are the big Pirellis noisey? I know they provide excellent all weather grip but after 40yrs of high performance (noisey) drivers from Abarth to Porsche I really appreciate the SVX's ability to cover lots of ground quietly. For my purposes the SVX is a fine GT car but I really like the idea of greater traction... I still enjoy flying around the occasional freeway on/off ramp. Trying to decide between 18 x 8 wheels or 17 x 7.5 or 8s so yer feedback will be v. helpful...
I'm sure I'm not the only person looking forward to seeing a profile shot of your beast...
Thanks again,
WGJ

I don't know if there was a noise difference between the 225 and 255 pzero nero m+s tires. The pzero nero m+s tires are quieter than the dunlop sp sport a2's I had before. I think they are quiet tires but I can't guarantee how quiet cause it's hard to hear over the bad wheel bearings

Race wheel bearings?

Funny you should mention wheel bearings...I'm having to replace mine due to the monumental incompetence and dishonesty of the fools I paid to replace them ...a second time. First time, no high temp wheel bearing grease, even after I told them the bearings only came in packing grease. Second time they used torgue wrenches and they're making noise after a few thousand miles. Is there anything better than OEM or the bearings offered by Motorsports? This is the first car I haven't been able to find race bearings for at ANY price.
Thanks for your excellent feedback...I'm going w/17x8's with 255/40-17 tires. With my concern for quiet I'm going w/Yoko Dbs.
I really appreciate what a terrific resource the SVX Network is.

18x8 w/30 mm offset will not even be close to fitting. You gotta have at least 45 mm offset, with 50 mm preferred.

IF ALL ELSE FAILS

Jimsbaby,
Congrats! You did the same thing I did...go back and read this thread. You'll find your question has already been answered. Longassname has 18x8s w Pirrelli /255/35s successfully mounted on his SVX because the wheels have a (how many) __ mm offset? Hence...When All Else Fails...
WGJ
By the way...there may be a quiz later...

Those rims would stick out an extra 30mm+ from stock.

PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE

The Roh wheels. Drifts, are shown on PAGE 1 of this thread, sporting 255/35 x18s. I believe the Rohs are 49mm offset and fit beautifully according to Longassname. Check out the photos...way cool!
This is why we need a FAQ section so SVXers don't keep askig the same question over and over...that's what I found so amusing about Jimsbaby's question...it's answered only 3-4 pages back in THIS THREAD and as I said I've done the same thing. Anyone have a suggestion as to how we might better manage this database?
Still waiting for a response to my wheel bearing question...
WGJ
