Lol... you guys are great. I suppose you could roll down the window, use a stick to press the pedals with your right hand, and steer with your left (assuming you have two intact arms)... and run along side it. I think that could be a significant weight saver.
Honestly, I don't think there is a whole lot to shave weight without spending some serious dough for getting custom lightweight parts made or removing many creature comforts. No AC... that could suck if it isn't an all out racer.

For PRACTICAL purposes:
1. Carbon Fiber Hood 2. One of those Optima batteries 3. Ditch those heavy leather seats, and put in some lightweight ones (I wouldn't though, I LIKE my leather seats) 4. 5spd transmission is 200 lbs lighter than the ATX tranny 5. Lightweight wheels/tires 6. No big stereo 7. remove sound deadening That's about all I can think of. - Rob |

yeah, you can get em on ebay... however, I doubt you'll notice any difference. A gain of 1-5 hp won't be noticeable with a car that weighs this much.

Lightweight flywheel Carbonfiber driveshaft Remove the ABS crap. Remove the airbag crap Gut the bumpers remove the rear wiper assembly remove the rear window motor assemblies A little more extreem, but you get to keep your AC and you don't really lose anything you use anyways.

Gutting the bumpers would be dumb. You'd die if you hit anything. Your other suggestions were alright though.

More than that. I have a 3 series BMW seat in my room, it weighs 80 lbs. I'm guessing the power SVX drivers seat weighs about 100-110 lbs.

This is real simple guys. Just get a quality drill & some quarter inch bits, & start drilling. I'd guess a few thousand well placed holes in the under-carriage ought to shave a few hundred pounds off, & you've got a great full-sized car crumple zone to boot!
Glad to be of help - Ron.

BAhhh, just pull the whole body and make a lightweight frame. It'd be the fastest go-cart i've ever seen. Remember, seats are a must unless you want to sit on the engine and go for a cruise. It could be kind of helpfull. You arse will always be nice and toasty in the winter. Speaking of toast, keep a frying pan handy for the traffic on the freeway, and you'll bring new meaning to eating on the go. There's nothing better than warm bacon and eggs in the fast lane.
