Power light diagnostic trouble

So I completed the 4.44 transmission swap on my car and now the power light flashes every time on start up. I've tried twice now to get it to read the stored code(s) with no success.

I've pulled transmission codes successfully before with the stock transmission so I'd like to think I'm not just doing the process wrong.

Any guesses why it might not be working?
