I got to fiddling tonight and wanted to check the rods and bearings...
The rods are a perfect match and so are the bearings... Mike these are tri-metal bearings... not aluminums... I am going to use these as they are to my satisfaction... Anyway... The rods and bearings are all lined up... Now i gotta bet my block work done and put it all together... after I scope the crank that is Tom |

That's probably a good idea. There is a certain need for the dissemination of that knowledge to the SVX community. I'd even suggest a sub forum section of the mod mania forums "engine building projects."

I created a document you guys can use to get your cranks checked and if necessary straightend and machined. It has the specs the machine shop will need. It also has blanks for them to fill in with the measurements necessary to make sure the crank is ready to go in.
By them filling out the blanks you should be assured they did their job. By giving them the specs and the blanks it makes it easier for them to do their job--so they should be happy to have it. If your crank is in good shape and probably doesn't need machining it walks you through so you can take the measurements yourself. http://www.ecutune.com/ECUtuneSVXcrankSpecs.pdf |

Cam Boxes
Thanks for the great document. This should really help during out builds. I sent you a paypal yesterday for the cam boxes. I should have them ready to be packed by Monday.
Thanks for all of your help getting these builds organized. I can't wait to start seeing the results.

You're welcome. The cam boxes are packed and going out in the next hour or so. Just pack the cams into their individual boxes with newspaper (I like to use the usf oracle). The box dimensions are on the bottom. The weight of the box of packed cams is 32lbs.

Just moving this post over from tom's engine build thread to my piston thread.
Someone asked me about forged pistons for NA recently. I don't know if he's actually going to get them or not but yes I can get them made. They won't be from the same forgings as the current pistons are but then they don't need to be either. I'll leave the gas porting out too since there is no need to increase the cyllinder/ring wear if we don't need to seal huge amounts of power/cyllinder pressure. I'm thinking a compression ratio around 9.5. I don't know what the gas is like everywhere but the stuf they are selling in florida now is really knock prone. I think for my na car I would just as soon not fight the knock prone gas and go ahead and use pistons that work well even with regular. If i can get a few like minded people in on an order we can knock the price down a little. |

NA Pistons
It would be nice to see some NA cars set up with new pistons, cams, some headwork, and maybe a 5 speed.

working on it... a potential buyer may be interested but I cannot say for sure... I spoke with you about it a week ago and I ran it by him... he needs to see where he wants to go with the car
