Still runnin smooth as silk

My 93 is still running smooth as silk, the performace radiator was a good upgrade to an all stock setup. I don't drop by much, life is a busy place. Today is not a normal day as the high was -2 with a morning low of -15. Sunday should begin at -16 with perhaps a chance at 0 or so for a high. Bright and sunny but bitter cold at -29 wind chill. So, this weekend is a stay at home and chill. Pun intended.

SVX Mechanic San Francisco area

Hi All,
Can anyone suggest a repair shop in my area. I may need a bunch of work, and I have 0 knowledge about cars. I'd really be at a mechanic's mercy.
I was quoted both $1200, and $700 for a timing belt nearby. A few members indicated that even $700 was actually high.

The thing is, while you're in there, you might as well replace the water pump. And if you're doing that, you should flush the coolant and replace the thermostat, and probably most of your rubber hosery if it's all still original. Maybe one of those quotes included some of those things? The parts aren't cheap either; my timing belt alone was nearly $200CAD from the dealer.

I can look up the book time to do the job one of when I am at work tomorrow.

Major disease

Well, my '92 pearlie is in the transmission shop, I'm awaiting the doctor's report. I guess the PO just did whatever was necessary to get it running when it was in the shop last June, and didn't replace what was weak. Oh well, when it comes out, it will last another 15 years. (I hope.)

Just making my mark,
Owned my 92 dark grey met UK spec for 4 years now and counting, 90k miles and fullSSH, looks quite fresh for it's age and still spending a lot of time and money trying to get it looking as new as pos.....

Hi, I am a Newbie from Germany. I like this great car as any other and hope it will have a big future. I am from Germany and hope to see more members from all over Europe, so we can start a network and maybe meet sometimes. As far as I know there are very rare in Europe.

all the best from racecube!

edit: B.t.w. I've got a red one with a black roof, which is equipped with LPG but don't ask me for specials, cause I did not install it, but it works fine except some backfire problems (Venturi).

Guten Tag Racecube,

Great to have you with us, you are very welcome to the Network.

We have a dedicated section for Europe. See http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=24

You will understand I hope that we converse through the medium of English. Most of the posts in the Europe forum are from England, Scotland Wales and Ireland, but we have regular posters from the continent.

We have members in Holland, Sweden, Norway, Latvia, Czechoslovakia, France, Spain and Portugal and others I probably don't know. My friend Paulo in Portugal has an ex-Germany yellow SVX which can be seen in some of the Deutche clubs photos.

If you can help to co-ordinate an international meet we would be very pleased.

Joe

Hello People!

Hi I'm SVXPOWER and I have a 97 SVX that I would like to do a 6sp swap on and add 250hp nitrous to. Any web sites for reputable shops would be greatly appreciated. So far no luck.
