Manual Transmission Capability

Is there a current listing of compatible manual transmissions for the SVX? Specifically, more recent STI - 2014 - present? Have there been changes in later years that would make conversion excessively difficult?

For example, i hadn't even thought of it but came across someone interested in the legacy spec B swap. Although more or less a Sti transmission, the installer ran into an issue with the vehicle speed sensors in that the Spec B utilizes the ABS sensors instead of VSS. Wanted to ensure, as best possible, that before beginning this process I don't make it more difficult by picking up a transmission that will cause even greater headaches.

Re: Manual Transmission Capability

The Spec-B VSS issue you mention are the types of things you'll want to be aware of when searching for a transmission. I know there are other "gotcha" items like that, but nothing that can't be overcome by swapping parts around.

I don't think there is one "Holy Grail" transmission that makes the conversion 1,000x easier.

Any EJ manual transmission will physically bolt into the SVX, it's just getting it all buttoned up that takes the real research. Unfortunately, I've forgotten all those details.
