Though I haven't tried it (yet), cerium oxide is supposed to be the product that one uses to buff the scratches out of glass. The kit is available at www.jcwhitney.com It comes with the cerium oxide paste and a felt wheel that fits in a drill driver. Your driver must be adjustable to low RPM's.
If you do this, make sure you either remove and clean your inboard stabilizers, or replace them with new, or, your problem will come right back.

We discussed this once before on the Yahoo club. I remember someone saying what to use (check the Yahoo archives). But BE CAREFUL no to get the stuff on the little felt pads. That's where the scratches on the side windows come from in the first place. This is probably the first thing that I'll have to do to my pristine '96 LSi. The felt is scratching the side glass. Not bad, yet. But one day I'll have to do something.
