High Temp Double Face Tape

I got a free sample of this wonderful High Temperature Bond Film from 3M. I needed it for bonding some circuit boards together that had to hold up to high temperatures. It can withstand 150C environments! At this temperature your dash would melt.

I used the stuff to hold my radar detector bracket to my cloth liner on the roof of my old car. The stuff stayed there for several YEARS! Finally the cloth liner started to come down with the detector still attached!

Amazing stuff. It comes in different thicknesses starting at 0.5mils. It's VERY thin and EXTREMELY sticky.

The Product number is 966 with several variations availabe. I got a free 3inch wide roll 3 feet long directly from 3M. I've since used it on tons of projects.

Here's the product data sheet. With a well placed phone call to 3M and an explaination that you have an 'application' for bonding two 'things' together they are all too happy to send a free roll.

Just don't stick yourself to something...

Has anyone actually taken apart the 'garnish?' I want to know if the clips will break if i take the panel off. If they won't I'll probably just take it off and tape it together. If they do i'll buy the new clips from Subaruparts.com.

Craig,
If I think of it tonight when I get home, and can get access to my computer (wife and kids, y'know), I'll try to post the procedure for removing the granish, in my "locker" (I still prefer the term "Junk Drawer" myself ).

Hey, thanks. That would be the greatest. Don't worry about time though, I'm patient enough. (and I will spend my patience time studying for finals and finding out how to access briefcases!)
