Rear doors

I think I remember reading somewhere that Mazda is/was planning to make a 2-door version of the RX-8 as well. By the way, I'd rather have a 350Z

Zzzzzzz's and Ggggggg's

I sat in a 350Z in the showroom....I love the way the shifter feels. Very nice car, but if I was spending that amount I would go with the Infinity G-35 coupe. One of the most stunning body designs to come from Japan in quite awhile. Don

Beav,

why don't you come out straight and say you don't like the RX8??

About 2 weeks ago I parked my 92 SVX next to the new 350Z in a garage. I walked around both cars. The new Z is too heavy looking, too chunky. I found the front and rear lines too abrupt. I like the lighter look of older designs. It may be that the new designs look heavier because they have to meet more stringent crash safety codes.

I havent seen an RX-8 yet. But so far, I don't like it from it's photos.

More Z vs. G

Click on that Infinity site I posted earlier Larry, and give me your opinion of the G-35 coupe.

Don,

Ok, you asked for it. I am basing my opinions (they are only my opinions) only on the photos from the site. I have not seen the GS-35 in person.

I don't like the rectangular headlight covers. The "squareness" of these headlLight covers clashes with the curves of the grill and fenders.
Also, the front bumper assembly is too heavy for my my tastes. They could hav put a few more horizontal lines it it to break up it's massive vertical appearance.
Next, The windhield post is thicker at the bottom than at the top. I think it should be all one width.
The side of the of the door is too tall in relation to the window height . It looks like a ZZ-Top chopped hot rod.

I can't tell about the back of the car. I did not see any photos of it.

Sorry that I did not like some aspects of the styling. I guess I am an old opinionated (Sicilian heritage) SOB.
