Thumbs up How long... has this been goin' on?

It was 10 years ago last June... Never once regretted it, either!

But, for some reason, the Forum won't let me vote in polls.

Bought my 92 pearlie in October of 93. Now I'm getting the crazy notion to buy another one as a spare/backup.

I bought this in Sept 1997 with 129,000 miles on it for my wife. It now has 177k on it. This year wife was nervous about the non-functional AWD and other quirks that were developing so she got a 2003 RAV4 (couldn't get her to go for the WRX; she wanted an SUV). The dealer wasn't going to give anything in trade so I kept it as a spare to alternate with my 93 delSol for daily driving.

I bought mine on Feb 3, 2001!

And I sent it to NZ in Feb 2002 and put it into storage where it still remains. Maybe I hold the record as an SVX owner who hasn't driven their SVX in the looooongest time.

I've had mine over two years. A lot of tranny trouble, but otherwise total reliability.

Lovely drive as well. I bought it to take away some of the stress from my commute. It does that, and then some.

SVX B day

Nov 6, 1999. Test drove it with a broken ankle after my dad pulled into a shopping center too quickly and scraped the bottom (he's driven noting but Cherokee's since 86). I wasn't about to let him destory my new car.

Jul 2001. When I went to go test drive it, I came in a really crappy 85 200sx with a failing turbo. As soon as I hit the gas peddle in the SVX, I thought, man, what a treat.

March 2000 for 19K at 36K miles from the dealer (florida lease return). Put in new transfer clutches and wheel bearing with knuckle on warrenty. I wanted a unique ride, knew about the SVX, saw it drove it and bot it. No problems.

Talking February of 95

Bought it with 16K on the clock in February of 1995, the dealer had three, all demos, never been titled, now has 68K. Transmission holding up, bearings quiet, body sound. Have not seen another car I'd want yet, at least that I could afford.

Everytime I walk up to it, I admire the lines. When my wife takes our daughter to school functions, I watch it leave the driveway and fall for its lts shape all over again. Best car I ever bought.

Love this site...............
