Steve,

Great! I believe a couple of the races are down in your direction.

Tom,

I'm figuring we'd shoot for the events on this side of the Mississippi river, for starters. Neither series has put out their 2013 schedules yet, so all I have to work with is their 2012 schedules.

The CHUMPCAR schedule is here --> http://www.chumpcar.com/events.php

The LeMONS schedule is here --> http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/eventsbyregion.aspx

Excellent! Two from Florida now. Might just have to include the GRM Challenge ($2013 next year!) in this adventure

Re: East Coast-based 24 Hours of LeMONS/CHUMPCAR World Series SVX Race Team??

Tom and Tom --

Would it make sense to remove the stock steering wheel/airbag set up and replace it with a smaller diameter Sparco, Nardi, Momo, or Grant aftermarket steering wheel with no airbag?

Thanks.

Bill

The cheap, quick and easy is just to remove the airbag.
I personally love our stock SVX steering wheel.
This way you are not spending any money.

Given that we won't have any side glass, this would be a nice security "feature"

The adaptor has to be welded to the steering shaft.

I do not remember what the adaptors cost, but does'nt the car have to be valued at a VERY cheap price when compleated?

You are correct, my friend! I'm starting to find myself having to remind myself already to "keep things simple, with a strong eye on reliability" #1 rule is to have fun, #2 rule is to always finish the race.
