Cool

I've yet to find a reason to leave Win 95.

Ron.

Amen Ron, if it ain't broken, don't fix it.

I have tried them all and i can't get over how amazingly well Windows 2000 works. It's the most headache free operating system in the world. It's almost like it's not Windows! I recently switched to windows XP and i am regretting it horribly. First i feel like i am on barney's computer (what's with the cartoonish graphics?), and it has slowed down my system (2.0ghz, 512MB, Geforce2 GTS, system resources 88% free) enough to be annoying, and i have to go through all these stupid graphics to do what i want. I am getting a new hard drive, then i am switching back to win2000.

I had a Mac when i was in grade school, but then i grew up and got a PC. They're operating systems are nice, but largely useless. I mean what good is the best operating system in the world when it's on a computer that is incompatible with 90% of the software out there? Plus they're expensive!

Hmm.. Yall need to go play with new macs - OS X. Mmmm...

I mean hey, you're already in the Cult of SVX, might as well join the Cult of Apple.

But really, I was pc only until march of this year. Fell in love with a mac, and you know, thats the way it went. I have nothing against pcs though, whatever works for your personal situation is A-OK with me.

No. I know an SVX wheel when I see one. This was the wheel in another thread that I'd been looking at -- someone had asked what was the difference between the silver, and something else. Sheesh. I swear I saw it . . . and I gave up those brownies LONG ago.

At home, I'm using win98 on a compaq 5665. It serves me well.

My work computer is an IBM ThinkPad TransNote, running win2kPro. http://www.pencomputing.com/frames/ibm_transnote.html

I love this little computer.

xp 1900
20GB IBM (pre-60GXP)
a7v133
256 Pc133 (only drawback on the system)
Gefroce 4 4600 (Purchased directly from Nvidia for $200.00, The company I work for is also part of Koolance, traded 3 cases for 3 4600's)
Yamaha 16x burner (soon to be a Liteon 40x12x48)
Toshiba DVD
IBM P200 monitor
Windows XP Pro Corporate

Most of that wont make sense to a lot of you, but I built this one from the ground up, and I'm always upgrading with the money I don't dump into the SVX.

I am of the Mac clan and for good reason. Whats more at this instant I am going to treat myself to a scotch and water ( not much water ) as I have a good reason (excuse) to celebrate ! Here's to all you nice people what ever you run and may you never crash.

Trevor, I only drink on days that end with the letter "Y" and then, only if I'm by myself, or with somebody. CHEERS!!

I run 9.2 most of the time, but I have another partition of my HD set up for OSX, so when I want to play in that I can too.

See my point? Certain things in life have a premium pricetag, and for good reason. I bought an original 1st generation imac when I went to college. 333mhz G3. 6 gig hd. Now I have a 600mhz G3, firewire port for digital video editing (which is EXTREMELY easy on a mac I might add, I tried to do DV on my sony viao laptop but couldn't figure it out), upgraded graphics card, 46gig harddrive, and soon 512 megs ram. I will soon have the fastest most modded 1st generation iMac in the world. Mu-hahaha. Better yet, the only time I've reinstalled systems was when I switched HDs. The only real reason I see to even look at a PC is if you're low on cash, or you want to play games. >shrug< But, whatever floats your boat. I just prefer more refined computers and operating systems.

Oh, you have to be kidding me. I'm a die-hard PC fan and I hate 95. That one needed to be left in the oven longer - it wasn't done yet.

Of course, I still use NT4 at home. :P If it isn't broken, I guess...

Get to know 'em better and you'll only hate 'em more. At first, you only know enough to be dangerous. But eventually you know enough to attract everyone else who doesn't.

Those CDW commercials depict the real world perfectly.

'Fred, I got an error saying that the server was full. Don't worry - I deleted all the files, so now we're all good.'
