Re: Leatherique

Here are the instructions directly from Leatherique:

Apply the Rejuvenator Oil liberally (about 4 oz. per seat) with your hands; massaging the oil well into all the surfaces and natural folds of the leather, this puts natural ingredients, not harsh cleaner, back into the leather and forces out dirt.

Also apply the Rejuvenator Oil liberally nearer the stitched areas as the conditioner will be able to migrate laterally well into the hide. Park the car in the sun with the windows rolled up to create a “steam room” for as long as practical, several hours or a day. For “cardboard hard” leather, several applications will be necessary.

After the ph correct proteins and collagens from the Rejuvenator Oil have permeated back into the pores and fibers of the leather, strengthening and nourishing them, the surface may be tacky, sticky, gritty, or have a white haze. This is simply the dirt, grime, air pollution, perspiration, salts and other toxins that have floated out of the leather to the surface. Apply Prestine Clean by putting it in a spray bottle then wipe off with a SOFT lint free cloth. Prestine Clean will not remove the conditioner permeated into the leather.

Re: Leatherique

Seams on mine have gone out, precisely because the leather is "cardboard hard" I think.

Re: Leatherique

Another serious competitor to Leatherique is Liquid Leather by Gliptone. These award-winning products are also from the UK and I have used them as well with outstanding results.

Lots of valuable information on leather care on this website. Everything you need to know about leather care. Here is just one article:

Although I really like Leatherique, I may go back to using this the next time.

Re: Leatherique

I take it by what you say you are impressed. I am going to wait til spring and try it . too cold to get a good heat inside going . My seats are slightly stiff, Not yet Cardboard. If this stuff even soften them 10% I will be happy . so I need to order both Rejuv and Cleaner or is it in a kit ?
Looked on the site it is available in 32 oz kit also. (one 32 oz of each $85.00)

Wouldn't show up the softness.

This is not like waxing your car, where you could see a difference in gloss, color and lack of swirl marks and spider-webbing.

The interior LOOKS the same, but FEELS a lot softer to the touch; something that has to be experienced first-hand. The leather just has a slight hint of sheen as when new.

It does not alert you to incorrect spelling either. I re-edited it once I got back to my "real" computer.

Re: Leatherique

I purchased Leatherique around November and have been using the "Pristine Clean" solution to remove grime from the tan steering wheel of the V70. I also used it to scrub down the seats and was very pleased with the results. I am waiting until I can remove the seats from the car in order to complete the full treatment, but from what I see so far, I am very pleased with this product.

Re: Leatherique

Hey Mike, how did it work? (I remember you commenting how soft my seats were in my SVX )

A tip i got from the Rennlist forums was to slather on the Rejuvenator and cover the seats with trash bags and let it sit a day (then reapply if you like. ) Follow up with the Prestine Clean.

I bought a big bottle of the Prestine Clean and Rejuvenator back in 1998, used it on all my cars since then, and i still have about 1/4 bottle left in each, so dont let the price scare you.

I actually haven't gotten around to doing it yet. My seats are looking pretty in my living room, though! And I very clearly remember that the seats in your SVX were the softest I had ever felt. If it makes mine like that, i'll be so happy! My seats are already in very good shape given that it's a low mileage car, and was garaged. I think I have a great starting point.

I intend on wrapping them with stretch wrap and pointing a space heater at them.

It's been pretty "hot" for NW PA. mid 50's and thunderstorms last week one day and it was near 60 another day a couple weeks ago. I always bring crazy weather with me

It was 60 here in the 'Burgh the other day, but its best to let the Leatherique simmer on a hot summer day.
